Process Piping

Design to Code

We always ensure to adhere to the codes and guidelines adopted by your process. TAD's specialization is in process piping designed in accordance to ASME B31.3.

This standard provides a framework to safely design chemical process piping, and is the leading design code for process piping in the U.S.

Stress Analysis

In order to prevent piping failures, a piping stress & flexibility analysis is performed to ensure the design is properly supported and accounts for temperature swings, cyclic loading, environmental effects, and process conditions.

TAD conducts full piping analyses using Bentey AutoPIPE, but can conduct Finite Element Analyses (FEA) on localized stresses using SolidWorks Simulation as well.

Optimizing Layout

TAD always strives to acheive an optimal layout with regard to operator safety & ergonomics, piping stresses (ASME B31.3), and future expansion.

In addition, we work with our clients to maximize pump & equipment efficiencies, minimize steel & piping costs, and to get the most out of their utilities (i.e. steam & water). Any tradeoffs encountered during the design phase are presented to the client to ensure we are prioritizing their needs.
